The NACD (National Association of Cave
Diving) was established in 1968
for the purpose of achieving safer cave diving through training
and education The focus for NACD (National Association for Cave
Diving) is to aid interested divers in becoming safe cavern or
cave divers and to discourage those who may not meet minimum standards.
The NACD philosophy of safe cave diving is based on a system of
checks and balances to insure that NACD standards are maintained
in each course and that NACD divers are not only good but responsible
cave divers.
The course and philosophy of the NACD course

2. Pre-Dive Planning and Post Dive Critiques.
3. Development of Physical and Mental Capabilities.
4. Appreciation of The Cave Environment.

IANTD International Association of NSS-CDS
National Speogoligcal Society-Cave Divers Society
The International Association of Nitrox
and Technical Divers (IANTD) is committed to training
divers in the safe and proper use of alternative gas mixtures
for recreational and technical diving. IANTD's mission is to understand
seek opportunites and comprehend challenges of nitrox, advanced
and technical diving, in order to foster openness, individual
responsibilities, and provide a standard of care for instruction
in the diving community.
They are working to promote openess, share procedures,
techniques and operational methods with divers seeking to expand
their diving experiences. Their courses focus on skill development,
skill refinement, excellence in teaching and advocate strong student-instructor
relationships.

The National Speleological Society (NSS)
formed their cave diving section in the early 70's in order to
continue their mandate to assist individuals in the safe study,
exploration and conservation of caves.
The NSS-CDS is committed to the safe and proper
enjoyment of the cave environment through proper training and
guided experiences. Additionally, the organization believes that
a properly trained diver will significiantly reduce the damage
that can be caused to the cave envirnoment and its unique formations.
The goals of the NSS-CDS training program include:
