The Riviera Maya, also known to some as the ' Mayan Riviera' is a 147 kilometer coastline that runs from Puerto Morelos to Tulum on edge of the Mexican Caribbean. This area is host to the second largest barrier reef in the world and the has the largest explored cave system for divers. The island of Cozumel, Mexico's largest island, is also part of the Mayan Riviera and offers divers another diving experience different from the coast.

The area was first inhabited and settled by the Mayan Culture and was invaded by the Spanish in the early 1500's. Once the Spaniards left, the Mayans continued to contribute to the rich cultural history that is now rightly labeled the Mayan Riviera. In addition to some of the greatest diving in the world, visitors can also experience the Mayans Ruins, local arts, spiritual leaders and small villages which mix with the new city development, tourist attractions and jungle adventures.

TULUM

The name Tulum comes from the Mayan word for "wall" as it was the few mayan cities that erected surrounding walls to protect its inhabitants and thier spiritual practices. We now know the original Tulum city as the Tulum Ruins, the only Mayan Ruin located on the ocean.

Tulum is a magical city that is host to international travelers seeking solitude, serenity and tranquility by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
